• Establish a workable and accepted tool for certification of e‑Manufacturing providers according to this standard (issuing, auditing, and maintaining).
• Minimize the occurrence of lower quality e‑Manufacturing in the marketplace.

• in line with other industry standards about to emerge (e. g. ASTM)
• voluntary standard
