Whether you’re getting started with the additive manufacturing of dentures for the first time or you want to expand your existing production capacity: we have complete solutions from a single source with systems, materials and training. Open process

Our process chain offers great flexibility thanks to its open system interfaces. The user can choose between modules as required and exchange data between them. EOS systems work with STL data (STL = Surface Tessellation Language, a standard format for 3D data), which allows dental technicians to take advantage of various computer-aided design software (3Shape, Dental Wings, Exocad, etc.). Thanks to the independent system structure, the digital CAD-CAM process can be adapted to suit the business, indication-specific and technical dentistry requirements of your medical practice or laboratory to achieve an optimal manufacturing process.

Precise Series Manufacturing of Dentures

Bego USA relies on a 3D printer system from EOS to produce dental prostheses using non-precious metal alloys. The system achieves a precision of +/- 20 micrometers. Conventional methods are capable of producing around 20 units per day.  

By contrast, the 3D printing system by EOS scales up to 450 crowns and bridges per day. The results: Bego USA is already producing hundreds of units per week less than one year after installing their EOSINT M 270.

Certified Materials and Processes by EOS

Our metal powders meet the high requirements placed on medical products. All testing and processing is conducted in cleanrooms.

EOS CobaltChrome SP2 and EOS CobaltChrome RPD are approved as class II medical materials for dental applications (Directive 93/42/EEC). Our EOS Finland Oy branch in Turku, Finland is certified for the development and manufacturing of materials and processes (ISO 13485: 2016). We offer support for all aspects of process introduction for dental laboratories and other manufacturing service providers.

For the digital production of crowns and bridges, there are several suitable options in combination with the CE-certified material EOS CobaltChrome SP2 (CE 0537). The biocompatible cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy (type 4 according to ISO 22674) is CE-certified (CE 0537) for the dental industry and supports further processing, for example as cast frames. This material, together with the 3D printing system EOS M 100 or the older EOSINT M 270 model, meets the EN 1641 and EN ISO 22674 standards for manufactured dentures.

The CE-certified material EOS CobaltChrome SP2 (CE 0537) is ideally suited for manufacturing crowns and bridges in dental medicine.

The EOS M 100 system is excellently suited for the industrial 3D printing of delicate metal parts for dental applications.

The well-established system on the market for the additive manufacturing of dental end products – up to 450 units per day.

EOS systems are capable of manufacturing medical products. However, EOS cannot guarantee that these products meet all requirements.

For model casting, EOS solutions achieve extensive time savings. Designing a model cast prosthesis takes just 15 minutes. The EOSINT M 270 system can be used to make model cast prostheses. It works very accurately, makes laboratory work easier and produces approx. 48 units per day with consistent quality. All material and application properties are compatible with one another. The technology can make structures that are more delicate than is possible with conventional casting techniques. High detail rendition supports the reproduction of grained structures. For model cast prostheses, the material EOS CobaltChrome RPD can be used, a biocompatible cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy (type 5 according to ISO 22674) that is CE-certified (CE 0537) for the dental industry. 

For class II medical products according to Annex IX Rule 8 of the MDD 93/42/EEC, a cobalt-based dental alloy is the material of choice. 

The EOSINT M 270 system is optimized to produce model cast prostheses. It can manufacture up to 40 units per build job.

EOS systems are capable of manufacturing medical products. However, EOS cannot guarantee that these products will meet all requirements.
