Service Provider Spotlight: How BEAMIT Scales Qualified Metal AM for Aerospace Production
01. October, 2026 | Reading time: 3 min
High-performance industries place some of the most demanding requirements on manufacturing. From aerospace and space to defense and energy systems, components must meet strict quality standards while delivering consistent performance in challenging operating environments.
To support these industries, manufacturers need partners capable of combining engineering expertise, qualified processes, and industrial-scale additive manufacturing. BEAMIT, an Italian metal AM service provider, helps customers bring high-performance applications into production through qualified and production-ready AM solutions.
Following its acquisition by Rainshow Industries in 2026, BEAMIT has entered a new phase focused on expanding its industrial manufacturing capabilities. Through continued investment in technology, infrastructure, and qualified production processes, the company is strengthening its ability to bring high-performance applications into serial production.
Supporting the Transition from Prototyping to Production
Today, BEAMIT serves customers across the aerospace, space, defense, energy, and industrial sectors. The company's strategy is centered on enabling customers to move beyond prototyping and into serial production through robust and repeatable manufacturing processes.
This commitment is reflected in ongoing investments in advanced technologies, process automation, quality systems, and production capacity. One of the most significant developments is the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Termini Imerese, near Palermo, Italy. Covering more than 5,000 square meters, the site is designed to support future growth while expanding BEAMIT's manufacturing capabilities.
The facility will also become home to the first EOS M4 Onyx system installed in Europe, marking another milestone in BEAMIT's strategy to expand qualified metal AM production capacity for demanding industries, like space and defense.
Building on EOS Technology
Besides its new production facility in Termini Imerese, BEAMIT continues to operate advanced additive manufacturing operations in Fornovo di Taro and Rubbiano di Solignano, both in Parma Italy. Across these sites, the company relies on a fleet of four EOS M 290 systems and four EOS M 400-4 systems to support the production of qualified components for highly regulated industries.
For applications where qualification, traceability, and repeatability are non-negotiable, process stability is essential. This is one of the key reasons BEAMIT continues to invest in EOS technology. Two machines within the fleet, an EOS M 290 and an EOS M 400-4, are Nadcap qualified, helping the company meet the stringent quality requirements of aerospace, space, and defense applications.
Quality as a Competitive Advantage
In industries such as aerospace, certification and process consistency are essential. For BEAMIT, qualifications such as Nadcap and AS9100 are key differentiators, ensuring manufacturing processes meet the requirements of highly regulated applications.
Together with capabilities spanning powder handling, post-processing, machining, and inspection, these standards enable BEAMIT to support customers from development through production.
Delivering High-Performance Applications
BEAMIT primarily works with nickel-based superalloys and titanium alloys for its demanding industries. Combined with in-house capabilities spanning powder handling, machining, post-processing, and inspection, these standards enable Beamit to support customers throughout the entire journey from development and qualification to production.
One of BEAMIT's key achievements is the serial production of metal AM components at volumes exceeding 2,000 parts per year while maintaining consistent quality and process repeatability. This is supported by qualified manufacturing processes, engineering expertise, quality control, and post-processing capabilities that enable additive manufacturing to be used in production environments.
“For aerospace and other highly regulated industries, success is not defined by a single part but by the ability to deliver consistent quality at scale. Combining engineering expertise, qualified processes, and industrial production capabilities is what enables additive manufacturing to become a true manufacturing technology. As part of Rainshow Industries, BEAMIT is accelerating investments in capacity, technology, and infrastructure to support the next generation of industrial AM production.”
