C&A Tool Expands Additive Manufacturing Fleet, Acquiring Ninth EOS Industrial 3D Printer - an AMCM M 450
____ Novi, Michigan, SEPTEMBER 07, 2022
Leading U.S. high-precision contract manufacturer C&A Tool has acquired an AMCM M 450 system from EOS—its ninth EOS industrial 3D printer in their metal additive manufacturing production facility. The acquisition of the AMCM M 450 system is a significant milestone in C&A Tool’s commitment to acquire twenty (20) AM systems in the next decade and expand their aerospace production capabilities.
Based on the time-tested EOS M 400 platform, the AMCM M 450 provides 25% more build volume (450x450x400mm) and is specifically designed to meet the demands of aerospace and space applications.
“Being an early adopter and investing in additive technology has always been important to C&A Tool. The addition of the AMCM M 450 confirms this commitment. We are proud to be the Midwest’s only for-contract manufacturer with these vast 3D printing capabilities and thank EOS for the continued partnership.” said Adam Heller, sales manager at C&A Tool.
As a leader in aerospace, defense, and commercial aviation manufacturing, C&A Tool plans to leverage the AMCM M 450’s build flexibility on high temperature aerospace applications within the engine and propulsion market segment.
“Our systems take EOS technology to the next level, allowing customers to push the limits of what is possible with AM,” said AMCM managing director, Martin Bullemer. “C&A Tool is a prime example of how organizations with existing, highly successful AM programs know there are new 3D printing technologies emerging that can help them expand their capabilities and meet their customers’ expanding requirements. We are happy to be a part of C&A Tool’s journey.”
The relationship between C&A Tool and EOS dates to 2007 with their acquisition of the first EOS M 270—a forerunner to the current EOS M 290 midframe metal 3D printer. Since then, their EOS fleet of machines now includes four EOS M 270s, one EOS M 280, three EOS M 290s, and now the AMCM M 450.
